The beginning — from your first word to your first conversation
You are new in Germany and starting from zero. The A1 course builds the foundation you need for everyday life: shopping, introducing yourself, asking for directions, making appointments.
Are you new to Germany and want to learn German from the ground up? Our German courses for beginners (A1) give you the ideal foundation for finding your feet in everyday life quickly. In our A1 courses you learn the basic language skills you need to hold simple conversations, handle everyday situations and make yourself understood in your new surroundings. Our experienced teachers accompany you step by step and support you with practical exercises and interactive learning methods.

Exam preparation
The course prepares you for the telc Deutsch A1 exam, which you can sit at our exam centre.
Sprachcafé & culture
The Sprachcafé and the cultural programme are part of every intensive course at no extra cost. At the Sprachcafé you speak with other participants and teachers in a relaxed setting; on the excursions you experience German in real situations.

Frequently asked questions
Will the A1 course definitely run?
A1 courses only start once the required minimum number of participants is reached. We will let you know in good time once a course is confirmed.
How much time should I plan for?
The intensive course runs Monday to Friday and covers 140 teaching units of 45 minutes, plus guided digital learning phases.
Is the certificate included in the price?
Yes. The institute’s own completion certificate is included in the course price, as are the Sprachcafé and the cultural programme. The telc examination is a separate service and is billed separately.
